Preparing For Your Stay

At Conway Regional Rehabilitation Hospital, we are honored that you have made the choice to utilize our services during your time of need. Our nurses and support staff will strive to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

An acute rehabilitation hospital is a hospital that provides care to a special population of patients, young and old, who, through illness or injury, have suffered a decline in functional skills, including the ability to fully care for themselves and their ability to walk. Most of these patients are able to return to the community and home with family after a short stay of 10 to 14 days. On average, 80 percent of the hospital's patients return home.

Conway Regional Rehabilitation Hospital is a 26-bed hospital. The medical director is board-certified in internal medicine with extensive experience in rehabilitation medicine. A primary attending physician is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation. The rehabilitation hospital's medical staff consist of a broad array of specialists who are available to provide consulting services. The acute rehabilitation hospital physician rounds a minimum of three days per week, and 24/7 medical coverage. All patients are seen by a physician within 24 hours of admission.

The medical director works with an interdisciplinary team which consists of licensed therapists (occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech therapists), nurses, social workers, case managers and dietary staff, who all interact with one another throughout the day. Our acute rehabilitation hospital provides a minimum three hours of therapy per day for five days per week.

Medication

When coming to the hospital patients should bring a complete list of your regular home medications and/or your regular home medications in the bottle that you received from your pharmacy. This is important to help our staff ensure that you are consistently receiving the correct dosage and type of medicine that your doctor prescribed. This will also help us coordinate your medication plan and prescriptions needs when you discharge from the rehabilitation hospital.

Electrical Appliances

State and federal safety requirements do not allow personal electrical appliances to be used in the hospital. However, cell phones and cell phone chargers are permitted.

Clothing and Laundry

Your stay here is to assist you in regaining independence. To accomplish this, you will be participating in therapy programs and activity groups; therefore, you will need loose, comfortable clothing along with a pair of sturdy, comfortable shoes with non-skid soles and daytime wear. Pants/slacks are advised for exercise and activities in therapy. Six to seven changes of clothes are recommended. Families will be responsible for doing your laundry at home.
