Austin Cole, MD, an orthopedic surgeon & sports medicine specialist, completed an orthopedic residency & fellowship in sports medicine. He has experience in sports medicine working with the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, & Clemson Tigers.
Dr. Cole graduated from Conway High School in 2010, where he played football and received the Scholastic Athlete Award. His passion for orthopedics and sports medicine began in high school under Dr. Tom Roberts. He then attended the University of Arkansas, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was recognized as an Arkansas Senior Scholar. Dr. Cole was awarded the Senior Honor Citation, given to the most outstanding graduating student from the University of Arkansas. He obtained his medical degree with Honors in Research from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2018 and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
Dr. Cole completed his orthopedic residency at Prisma Health in South Carolina. There, he received the Orthopedic Academic Excellence Award and served as Chief Resident. He gained sports medicine experience at the well-known Steadman Hawkins Clinic, and assisted with athlete care for Clemson University.
Dr. Cole then pursued a fellowship in sports medicine and a mini-fellowship in sports foot and ankle at the University of Kansas Health System. During this time, he supported the Kansas City Chiefs during their Super Bowl seasons and worked with the Kansas City Royals as well as the University of Kansas Athletics. He also served as the site physician for the NCAA Division 1 Wrestling Championships, the Big 12 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament, and the Kansas vs Missouri Football All-Star Game.
Currently, Dr. Cole is a team orthopedic physician for the University of Central Arkansas, Hendrix University, Central Baptist College, and Conway High School, among others. He has multiple publications in orthopedics and enjoys teaching the community and healthcare providers.
Outside of work, Dr. Cole cherishes adventures with his wife and two daughters. He is an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast, and deeply committed to his Christian faith, which is central to his family life.
